Hey there, I’m Arpita Darooka
A food stylist, photographer and blogger. After leading Human Resources for several years in India and the US, my inner calling prompted me to work on a dream and a vision envisaged by my younger self many years ago. Being creatively inclined and with an interest in food, I decided to embark on my journey towards endless and limitless possibilities. The food I cook and photograph is influenced by my family’s lifestyle, traditions, age-old recipes, travels and my keen interest in exploring global cuisines, but most importantly what we eat on a regular basis. Our consumption of home-made food is mostly healthy and wholesome and sometimes unapologetically indulgent.
I curate soul satisfying, wholesome meals and sometimes indulgent ones too, from my kitchen and love to share that here, on my blog. My journey of food photography began in California in 2019 and I gave wings to my art in India in 2020. My husband’s constant motivation and belief in me and my family’s support became my most important assets in the pursuit of excellence in this field.
I am a zealous learner and as an ardent admirer of beauty and art, I strive to constantly learn, better myself and discover. Aimlessly exploring places, small towns and cities and losing myself in the beauty of their existence, sums up an ideal day for me.
I am crazy for chocolates and long deep conversations over a cup of chai or hot chocolate.
When I am not cooking or working on recipes, I love to read, doodle or binge watch cooking shows.
